The district of Braintree has so much to offer.
With its lively market towns and picturesque villages set in beautiful rolling countryside, its grand houses and gardens, and its very own rich history and heritage, from Bronze Age and Roman settlements to its later fame as a silk, wool, lace and weaving centre.
Polly’s Field Village itself is located not far from the centre of Braintree, giving you easy access to all the town’s shopping and leisure amenities, the museum, heritage centre, public gardens and market areas as well as an array of supermarkets.
You’re also conveniently placed for Braintree Village shopping outlet (Freeport) which offers a relaxed village environment where you’ll find everything you’re likely to need, from a choice of over 85 stores, to excellent places to eat and drink.
There are regular bus services within Braintree and to neighbouring towns and cities including Chelmsford, Colchester, Halstead and Witham. Or perhaps you’d enjoy a drive in the countryside through idyllic villages and beautiful scenery, taking the time to stop for lunch at a traditional pub. If feeling more energetic, walk or cycle the many rural paths and lanes.
And let’s not forget Bocking Windmill, which can be seen from Polly’s Field Village. Originally built in 1721 some 170 yards from its present position, it is now retired, though most of its infrastructure is still in place.
